Checkrails

The checkrail is a component of railway structures designed to avoid the contact loss between the wheel edge and rail when switches are crossed, in correspondence with the "switch points crossing frog", where rail is discontinuous.

They are made of R260 steel. This grade, the same used for rail manufacturing, gives the product the same performance and guarantees required for runways, shock and wear resistance. In short, these are the features required for checkrails, which ‘drive’ the train wheel edge while crossing the switches.

They are supplied in bars of different lengths (2.60m, 2.80m, 4.30m, 12m) for profiles 40C1, 47C1, 33C1 depending on the type of switches they are installed. Further machining, drilling and folding will be conducted.
